Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited Jana Nayagan appears to be moving closer to its theatrical release, with fresh industry buzz suggesting that the film’s censor process is nearing completion.

Days ago, reports claimed that Jana Nayagan had received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). While there has been no official announcement from the makers, the latest speculation suggests that the board has now handed over the final cut list to the production team.

According to industry sources, the official censor certificate is expected to be issued within the next two to three days. If the process concludes as anticipated, the makers are reportedly eyeing July 23 for the film’s theatrical release.

Originally, Jana Nayagan was scheduled to release on January 9, 2026, during the Pongal holiday season. However, the film was unable to make its planned release due to delays in the certification process, resulting in a postponement of nearly six months.

With the censor formalities reportedly entering their final stage, expectations surrounding the film have once again gained momentum. Although the makers are yet to confirm the new release plans officially, the latest developments have reignited optimism among fans.

The film carries added significance as it is expected to be Thalapathy Vijay’s farewell film before his full-fledged transition into politics. From celebrating Thalapathy Vijay to welcoming CM Vijay, supporters are looking forward to seeing their star’s much-awaited title card once again, with anticipation for Jana Nayagan continuing to soar ahead of its expected release.
