Thalapathy Vijay starrer Varisu has now stormed into the 250 crore club worldwide, and has become the fifth film of the actor do so. Vijay has once again proved his mettle in the market, despite clashing with a giant-sized film like Thunivu.
Varisu has done close to 120 crores in Tamil Nadu, and has grossed 25 crores from the Telugu states which is a big move for Vijay, who has definitely increased his market in AP and TG. Apart from that, Karnataka has yielded close to 14 crores while Kerala has got in 13 crores. Varisu also performed decently in the North, with more than 12 crores grossed till date.
In North America, Varisu is inching towards the 2 million mark, in UK the film has registered all time #2 for a Tamil film by minting 835K Euros (7.4Cr) and Europe where the film has done in excess of 2.5 million. The film has done really good business in the Gulf, Singapore, Malaysia and Sri Lanka, where it has earned respectable numbers.
