In an interview leading up to the release of Malayankunju which is his next straight release in theatres as an actor, Fahadh Faasil has opened up about the journey of Kumbalangi Nights, which turned out to be a landmark role for him. Fahadh revealed that the role of Shammi was supposed to be played by Dhanush.
Unfortunately, the team could not make it happen due to budget constraints and the commitments for the actor. Ultimately, Fahadh himself went onto do the role. While Fahadh has Malayankunju releasing in theatres, Dhanush will have a Netflix release with The Gray Man on the same date – July 22nd.
