Production on Suriya’s upcoming film, tentatively titled Suriya 47, is progressing at a brisk pace, with the team currently filming an elaborate action sequence in Chennai. The ongoing schedule reportedly features actor Nazriya Nazim in a major action portion choreographed by stunt master Chethan D’Souza, known for his work in Jailer 2.
Interestingly, Suriya is not part of the ongoing shoot, as the sequence focuses primarily on Nazriya’s character, hinting at a significant and action-driven role within the film’s narrative. The filming schedule is said to include high-energy stunt choreography designed to blend seamlessly with the film’s comedic tone.
Directed by Jithu Madhavan, the project is described as a full-fledged action comedy entertainer, marking a refreshing genre shift for Suriya. The film is expected to present the actor in a cop avatar, offering audiences a new dimension to his on-screen persona while maintaining strong commercial elements.
Actor Naslen, who plays a key role in the film, is reportedly set to appear in an eccentric and unpredictable character, adding further curiosity around the film’s tonal balance between humour and action.
Backed by Suriya’s own banner, Zhagaram Studios, Suriya 47 is aiming for a theatrical release towards the end of the year. If schedules proceed as planned, the actor could have three releases in 2026: beginning with Karuppu, slated for May 14, followed by Vishawanth & Sons in July, and concluding the year with this ambitious entertainer.
With a fresh genre approach and a strong ensemble cast, Suriya 47 is shaping up as one of the most intriguing projects in the star’s upcoming lineup.
