Amid the ongoing controversy over the delayed release of Jana Nayagan, actor Silambarasan TR has publicly expressed his support for Vijay, highlighting the deep connection between the star and the film. The action drama, directed by H Vinoth, has been stalled due to certification issues with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), causing it to miss its initial January 9th release date and leaving fans and the industry disappointed.

Silambarasan took to his social media handle to post an encouraging message for Vijay, writing that setbacks have never stopped the actor and asserting that the “real festival” begins once Jana Nayagan finally hits theatres. He stated that one cannot separate the film from Vijay, given the actor’s long-standing contribution to Tamil cinema and the fact that this project is widely seen as his swansong before focusing on his political career.

In a recent interview, Silambarasan reiterated that Jana Nayagan and Vijay are inherently linked, and industry support is vital to ensure the film reaches audiences. He emphasized that while he is not versed in politics, he sincerely wishes Vijay success both in the film’s release and in his future political pursuits.

The delay has been prolonged as legal proceedings around the CBFC certification continue, with the Madras High Court annulling a previous directive that had compelled the board to grant a UA certificate and remanding the matter for further review.

Silambarasan, meanwhile, remains busy with his own projects, including Arasan with Vetrimaaran and an upcoming film with director Ashwath Marimuthu, even as he stands in solidarity with his peer during the Jana Nayagan impasse.
