The project is said to be nearing the completion of its shoot, and industry buzz now suggests that the film’s OTT rights have been acquired by Netflix, with the release reportedly being lined up for January 23rd. While an official confirmation is still awaited, the rumour has already sent excitement through the trade circles and among fans.
If the date holds true, Karuppu will arrive just weeks after two other major Tamil releases. Jana Nayagan is scheduled to hit theatres on January 9th, followed by Parasakthi on January 14th. With Karuppu potentially joining the lineup on January 23rd, Kollywood could witness three big releases landing in three consecutive weeks, setting up a massive January for the Tamil box-office.
Meanwhile, Suriya’s future lineup continues to generate further anticipation. His film Suriya 46, directed by Venky Atluri, is gearing up for a Summer 2026 release. This will be followed by Suriya 47, a cop action entertainer directed by Jithu Madhavan, targeted for a late 2026 release.
