Speaking at the audio launch of Kaatru Veliyidai, veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam said the film is a tribute to our Indian Air Force. “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to our armed forces. While shooting in Ladakh and Leh in extreme climactic conditions, we used to see jawans and their vehicles patrolling and realize how hard they work,” said Mani Ratnam.

Karthi said the movie is an intense love story. “Don’t come to theaters expecting an Alaipayuthey or Ok Kanmani. Kaatru Veliyidai is an intense Mani Ratnam love story set in the backdrop of Indian Air Force,” he said.

Produced by Madras Talkies and distributed by Sri Thenandal Films, Kaatru Veliyidai features Aditi Rao Hydari as the lead heroine. The film, which is slated to hit screens on April 7th, has music composed by AR Rahman.
